The Midwest Museum of American Art is pleased to announce the opening of the 37th Elkhart Juried Regional competition. The Jurors, Jane Stevens, Curator Emeritus, State of Illinois Museum, Chicago Gallery, and Artist, Jacqueline Moses, Skokie, selected 207 works by 153 artists from 424 works entered by 250 artists. A crowd over 350 viewed the exhibit at the opening reception where $30,300 in awards were handed back to several artists. Some artists won more than one award. A complete listing of the awards here.

The exhibition is a testament to the varied and professional talents of artists living in the 22-county region of Michiana. A complete checklist is available for the exhibit listing all artists, their works, and values for those pieces available to purchase. After 37 years the Midwest Museum of American Art has generated well in excess of $500,000 for the artists of the region.

The Jack & Karen Cittadine BEST of SHOW award which becomes property of the MMAA, was won by Jacqueline Gnott, South Bend, Indiana, for her photo-realistic watercolor titled, Still Life with White Lilies”. A special weekly series of gallery talks by award winning artists will be held every Thursday at noon during the course of the show. The exhibition is sponsored by the Elkhart County Visitors & Conventions Bureau for the fifth year in a row. The exhibit will continue through December 6, 2015.

The Midwest Museum of American Art is open Tuesday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM; Saturday and Sunday, 1:00 to 4:00 PM. Admission is $5.- Adult; $4. - Student, Five years through College Student; $10. - Family (three or more individuals). Every Sunday is FREE Family Day.
