Things to do in July in Elkhart County

July 2, Central Green, fireworks at dusk
Free music and fireworks on Saturday, July 2 at Elkhart's Independence Day Celebration at the Central Green in downtown Elkhart.
The 1985 will take the stage at 8:00 pm for a free family-friendly concert at the Central Green Stage.
Food trucks and vendors will be selling food and drinks on Civic Plaza beginning around 6:00 pm.
The fireworks will start at dusk (around 10 pm)

Elkhart Municipal Band
A band concert under the stars along the banks of the scenic St. Joseph River. Yes, please! Bring a blanket or some chairs to McNaughton Park in Elkhart at 8 p.m. Tuesdays through throughout the summer, for tunes to make your heart soar.

It’s an evening made for car lovers. Hot rods, roadsters, sedans, pickups - you name it, it’s here. While you’re here, savor a delicious dinner of fried chicken and mashed potatoes, and take one of their 30-plus kinds of pie home for dessert.

Elkhart County 4-H Fair
It’s nine glorious days of everything from Midway rides to a rodeo to carnival games. Sprinkle in amazing concerts, farm animals and 4-H exhibits and you have a perfect summer day.

Independence Day Extended Flea Market Shipshewana Flea Market, Shipshewana
The Midwest’s Largest Flea Market is open July 4 for Independence Day from 8 am to 4 pm. The Shipshewana Flea Market is a do-not-miss Hoosier tradition with nearly 900 booths in an open-air market covering 100 acres. General parking is $3 per vehicle.
