Things to do in July in Elkhart County

It’s one of the largest county fairs around and it’s back for 2021! Stroll Food Row for your favorite fair foods, then head over for a show on the Grandstand, some carnival fun, or the incredible 4-H exhibits. The Fair runs from Friday, July 23, 2021, to Saturday, July 30, 2021, at the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds, 17746 County Road 34, Goshen.
Car lovers of all racing stripes pack Das Dutchman Essenhaus, 240 U.S. 20, Middlebury, from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Thursdays through the summer. From hot rods to vintage classics, you won’t go long to spot the car of your dreams. Even better, have dinner in the Essenhaus dining room and take home a freshly baked pie.
Cinderella the Musical
The classic fairy tale comes to life with some Rodgers & Hammerstein hallmarks nightly July 16-18, 2021, at the Goshen Theatre, 216 S. Main St., Goshen. You won’t believe the talent that the Elkhart Civic Theatre brings to their annual summer show.
‘Grease the Musical’
Premier Arts brings “Grease the Musical” to the Lerner Theatre stage for four performances July 23-25, 2021. Reserve a table for dinner at one of the many restaurants along the Gateway Mile in downtown Elkhart to make a night of it.
‘You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown’
The Peanuts gang opens on The Round Barn Theatre stage for performances from July 23-August 22, 2021. Pair your theatre tickets with dinner at The Barns of Nappanee’s FarmTable restaurant for an evening to remember.
Dog Days of Summer
Fido will never have it better than at Dog Days of Summer, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 17-18, 2021, at Linton’s Enchanted Gardens, 315 County Road 17, Elkhart. Bring your pooch in their Sunday finest to win prizes for Best Dressed, enjoy fun activities, and stroll Linton’s incredible grounds. Proceeds of this fundraiser benefit the Humane Society of Elkhart County.
Food trucks, games and activities, and pop-up artisan tables make for a great evening at Town Green Social, 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays at the city of Elkhart’s newest parks at 575 E. Jackson Blvd. in the heart of growing River District.
