Biking & Walking
Elkhart county walking and biking guides.
Looking to get out and get active? Look no further! Whether you’re a casual biker, walker or expert cyclist, our new user-friendly Elkhart County Biking and Walking Trail Guide has a route for you.
Rural Bike Rides: Head off in any direction on the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail between Goshen and Shipshewana and you’ll come across – yes, other bikers, joggers and walkers – but likely Amish families. The rolling farmland and woodlands of this 14-mile trail show off nature at its finest but also give you quick and easy access to the thriving downtowns of Goshen, Middlebury and Shipshewana. Rural vistas, juicy burgers, sweet treats and craft beer are only a few pedal strokes away!
City Biking: Tour energized neighborhoods and catch a glimpse of urban factories converted into thriving shops and apartments or just restored to its humming heyday. Urban trails such as the MapleHeart, the Millrace Canal and the Ridge Run offer a fascinating glimpse of trendy city life. Follow the waterways that powered the birth of these cities, or wind your way along new corridors carved into the urban landscape.
