Seventeen not-for-profit entities have joined in a partnership with the Elkhart County Convention and Visitors Bureau to participate in the 2017 Elkhart County Area Guide.

The not-for-profit organizations will receive $17,152.50 in matching funds from the ECCVB, allowing local museums, attractions and chambers of commerce to advertise in the area guide at a discounted rate.

More than 130 Elkhart County attractions, restaurants, shops and lodging properties will be featured in the 2017 area guide, a 68-page glossy magazine titled Heritage Trail Adventures. About 200,000 copies will be distributed throughout the Midwest to potential readers who request the guide by mail or pick it up at Elkhart County businesses or travel plazas along the Indiana Toll Road and visitor centers across Indiana and neighboring states.

“Whether it’s a museum, park or live entertainment, not-for-profit organizations provide some of the most memorable experiences for Elkhart County residents and visitors,” said Diana Lawson, executive director of the ECCVB. “We are proud of our county, and we are committed to reminding all of our audiences why our community is a great place to live.”

The not-for-profit organizations which applied for and received assistance to advertise in the 2017 area guide are:

-- Amish Country Bed and Breakfast Group.

-- Town of Bristol.

-- Elkhart Civic Theatre.

-- Friends of Elkhart County Parks.

-- Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds.

“This program allows us to promote Nappanee to the state of Indiana and beyond. We have seen more visitors come to Nappanee every year, giving all of our businesses more of a boost than we could do on our own. We’re grateful for the support the Elkhart County Convention and Visitors Bureau provides to all its partners,” said Jeff Kitson, executive director of the Nappanee Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Elkhart County Convention and Visitors Bureau is the official tourism advertising/marketing and public/community relations organization for the Elkhart County hospitality industry. The ECCVB champions local businesses, programs and projects that serve residents, visitors and hospitality interests.
