ELKHART — Janis Logsdon has been promoted to the newly created position of assistant director at the Elkhart County Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Logsdon will retain her current duties as advertising sales and leisure marketing director but will take on the additional responsibilities of coordinating and managing the staff’s multiple projects and working with Executive Director Jon Hunsberger to advance the ECCVB’s mission to champion quality of place and share the authentic story of Elkhart County’s community of makers.
“Janis brings an impressive set of skills in working with Elkhart County’s small businesses. She has been a true leader for us at the ECCVB in the launch Elkhart County’s destination brand of Well Crafted. Her insights, adaptability and embrace of new technologies are a tremendous asset,” Hunsberger said.
Logsdon joined the ECCVB in 2016 as director of advertising sales and leisure marketing. She has already demonstrated leadership skills in the research and launch of the Well Crafted destination brand, a revamp of the Heritage Trail audio driving tour, the development and sales of the Elkhart County area guide, and award-winning marketing and promotional campaigns for the Quilt Gardens and Exit 92.
“This is an exciting time to be working with Elkhart County’s small businesses as we build our reputation for high-quality craftsmanship in everything we do. I’m looking forward to working with our ECCVB staff and our talented and creative partners throughout Elkhart County to establish ourselves as an outstanding place to live, work and visit,” said Logsdon.
The ECCVB has worked with its partners in 2020 and 2021 to navigate the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic while also working tirelessly to prepare for a recovery in travel, tourism and hospitality. The ECCVB is confident in Elkhart County’s foundation as inspirational, innovate and collaborative creators who love Elkhart County.
Levi King, president of the ECCVB board of directors, praised Logsdon’s promotion. “Having worked with Janis both on the ECCVB board and as a small business owner, I know this is a great move. Janis is a fantastic advocate for the shops, attractions, restaurants and artisans that make life in Elkhart County so wonderful,” King said.
The Elkhart County Convention & Visitors Bureau is the official tourism advertising/marketing and public/community relations organization for the Elkhart County hospitality industry. The ECCVB advances quality-of-place initiatives in our downtowns and rural spaces, parks and natural environment, arts and culture, and events, festivals, groups and activities that help forge social connections.
