The Honor Guard is formed from the men and women of various ranks within the Elkhart Police Department. These dedicated volunteers represent the City of Elkhart, and the Elkhart Police Department by performing in a wide variety of civic and public functions within the city, and the surrounding area.
Ceremonial functions of the Honor Guard include; rendering funeral honors for active and retired members of the Police Department and surrounding departments. Performing for parades and key civic ceremonies, as well as participating in the Police Memorial Week Services.
The Honor Guard has also participated in; dedication of the Indiana State Policemen/Firemen Memorial in Indianapolis, and the National Police Officers Memorial Services in Washington, D.C.
