The Elkhart County Convention & Visitors Bureau is proud to announce this year’s Taco Wars. Up to 10 restaurants will be nominated to compete in an online voting contest to see who makes the best taco in Elkhart County.
After Elkhart County restaurants battled it out in the past to find the best burgers and pizzas in the county, it is time to set our sights on tacos. The nomination phase for Taco Wars kicks off Wednesday, July 12, and will last one week. To nominate a restaurant, go to the ECCVB’s Taco Wars website, www.MyTacoVote.com.
After nominations close, the restaurants will move on to the voting rounds to determine who makes the best taco in the county. Voting will kick off July 21 and end on July 31. Voters can log in to vote each day to make sure their favorite restaurant gets the credit it deserves. Voters can keep checking the website and the ECCVB’s social media pages for a chance to win prizes through mini contests held throughout the voting process.
The winner of the “Best Taco in Elkhart County” vote will move on to the regional round to compete against the winners from six other northern Indiana counties to vie for “Best Taco in Indiana’s Cool North.” The regional round, featuring the best tacos from Elkhart, Porter, LaPorte, St. Joseph, Marshall, Kosciusko and LaGrange counties, kicks off August 4 and will finish on August 14.
Voters are encouraged to sign in and vote each round for a chance to win the grand prize of a $25 gift certificate to the overall winning restaurant.
Elkhart County Taco Wars is part of the Indiana’s Cool North Taco Wars project, a joint initiative of the Northern Indiana Tourism Development Commission (NITDC) and its member convention and visitors bureaus in Porter, LaPorte, St. Joseph, Marshall, Koscuisko, Elkhart and LaGrange counties.
