Trees for the Hart Planting Blitz
Help us grow a greener, healthier Elkhart!
Join Elkhart Parks & Recreation, Elkhart Environmental Center, and our community partners for the Trees for the Hart Planting Blitz, a series of community tree-planting days throughout Elkhart. Whether you have a green thumb or have never planted a tree before, we’ll show you what to do. All you need to bring is a little time and a willingness to get your hands dirty!
We have three opportunities to get involved, with each planting taking place at a different location:
September 19
Noon - 2 pm
Check-in at Hiawatha Dr. & 6th St.
October 11
1 pm - 3 pm
Check-in at 1400 Hudson St.
October 12
1 pm - 4 pm
Check-in at 608 Oakland Ave.
Come for one planting or join us for all three! Every tree planted is an investment in our parks, our neighborhoods, and the future of our community.
What to expect:
• Hands-on tree planting
• All experience levels welcome
• A chance to meet fellow community members
• Plenty of fresh air and a little dirt under your nails!
Bring comfortable clothes, closed-toe shoes, and a water bottle. We’ll provide the trees, tools, and guidance.
