A new guided tour gives groups a first-hand look at building heirlooms at Schmidt Furniture in Wakarusa. Stephen Schmidt began building cabinets 30 years ago. Coming from German-Swiss-Amish roots it is his legacy; and he continues that legacy building heirloom quality furniture. His family run business gives groups the chance to see all the action of creating an exquisite piece of furniture built to last generations and meet the folks who build it. It’s the only tour of its kind in the vicinity, and the Wakarusa location makes the tour an ideal addition to an Amish Country itinerary
