Gingerbread Jamboree

Overview

Gingerbread Jamboree: A Competition and Display | Group entries are allowed.

  • All Gingerbread entries must be in the form of house or building.
  • Please include your Gingerbread entry’s title in a visible place on the base.
  • All Gingerbread entries must be placed on a plywood or sturdy cardboard base not exceeding 18”x18”.
  • All Gingerbread entries must be 100% edible candy/embellishments/materials except the base board and candy wrappers. Non-edible support structure material other than the base board may not be used.
  • No artificial interior materials, such as Styrofoam, are to be used to construct or decorate the house.
  • Non-edible decorations, such as paint, ribbon, figurines, etc., may be used ONLY to decorate your base.
  • A list of materials used to create your Gingerbread entry along with the title should be submitted with your entry (included on entry form).
  • Completed entries must be submitted at the Middlebury Community Historical Museum, 301 W. Bristol Ave, Middlebury, between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 30, for judging. Entries will be displayed Friday, Dec. 3, 5-7pm, Saturday, Dec. 4, 10-3 & 5-6pm, and Sunday, Dec. 5, 1-3pm.
  • All entries must be picked up on Sunday, December 5, between 3 -4 p.m.. Failure to do so will result in the disposal of your entry.
  • The three categories are the following: Student (up to age 17), Adult (18 & over), and Group/Family.
  •  All entries will be judged on the following criteria to determine winners in each of the three categories: overall appearance, difficulty, creativity, originality, technique & skill.
  • Advanced registration is preferred but not required.
