Description: An ancient technique that has being revived in recent years, Encaustic Painting is the process of creating artwork using Encaustic medium (a combination of bees’ wax and resin) to create a unique art piece.
During this workshop, we will cover preparing the surface with encaustic, applying, and fusing pigments. We will be doing three small panels and using different techniques for each one.
We will learn how to burnish copies of photos, art, and do some details of applying shellac to the finished piece, and that’s when the magic happens!
I have items that can be added and incorporated in the piece. Working in a small group will ensure that you will have all the needed assistance from your instructor.
All tools and materials will be provided in the $25 class supply fee. You will go home with three finished pieces. I will have small frames for an extra charge that have been made ahead of time. This class is limited to 4 students only.
