Earth Day event is a free, family-friendly event that celebrates the natural, local environment. This annual spring event includes engaging, environmental educational activities for the whole family and provides free trees for citizens to plant at home and increase our urban canopy. 🌷🌳🌲🌾
Earth Day Trivia Nights 🙋♀️💁♀️🙆♂️🤦♀️ Try out your Earth Day/environmental knowledge in our virtual trivia nights! Each trivia night will cover different environmental topics. You can participate in one night or all 3 (though each team can only win a prize once).

Registration is limited to 3 teams (each team can have up to 5 members, but can also be only 1 person). The winning team will get a free tree package (a set of sapling trees from our tree giveaway). Limited to one prize per team (the prize contains multiple saplings).

Seed Ball Making Workshop🥑 🏐 At Studebaker Park Pavilion to learn how to make your own wildflower seed ball–and take one home with you! The family-friendly activity is a little messy, but it’s a great way to spread native seeds!

Live Fish & Stormwater Presentation 🦈⚡ Check out a live fish presentation by the City’s Aquatic Biologist, along with an interactive demonstration by our Stormwater Utility Manager! Learn about some of the aquatic wildlife from our Elkhart River, AND how to help take care of Elkhart's waterways.
Each presentation will last about 45 minutes. Groups will switch presentations after 45 minutes.

Pot trees ahead of the free tree giveaway! There are 250 seedlings to plant. Plant on Friday, April 16 from 4-6 p.m.–might end earlier if there is extra help!

Free Trees & Wildflower Seed Giveaway 🌳🌻🌳🌺🌳🌱 April 24
Each year, the EEC gives out free trees to the public and visitors work with our City’s GIS team to map where they will plant them– * While supplies last
10 a.m.– Pick up the perfect tree for your yard! Trees are 6 – 24 in. tall and potted.
Trees will be given out at the EEC via a drive-through system.

Limited to 1 tree per household while supplies last.
Leftover trees will be planted at the EEC as part of our site management/restoration plan.
They will also be giving away free wildflower seed packets to those who want them. Stay tuned to their Facebook on Sunday for a How-To video on making your own seed paper!
