The holidays are Elkhart County’s time to shine, so when your friends and family visit from out of town, why not show off your hometown.
Ho-ho-home for the holidays
See the Ruthmere Museum in a whole new light as they take the wraps off special Christmas-themed displays just for the season. Ruthmere honors military service past and present with “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” while its nearby Havilah Beardsley House takes you back to the Christmas finery in the 1800s.
Christmas in the Garden
Wellfield Botanic Gardens will take your breath away with their Winter Wonderland light display throughout the gardens. The sights, sounds and smells of Christmas will wash over you in this magical journey of one of Elkhart’s gems.
Filled with song
Get away from electronic screens with classic holiday entertainment performed live under the rafters of the historic Round Barn Theatre at Amish Acres in Nappanee, the intimate Heritage Hall on the Essenhaus campus in Middlebury or the historic (and maybe haunted) Bristol Opera House.
Just like home
It’s like a storybook Christmas in Goshen. Spread holiday cheer caroling door to door as part of Hometown Holiday in downtown Goshen on Dec. 1. Storefronts offering everything from handmade gourmet soaps, chic boutiques, rustic antiques and trendy restaurants are but a short stroll away on this classic Main Street.
