If there’s any place that’s a must-stop in Elkhart County, it’s Linton’s Enchanted Gardens, often called the “Disney of garden centers.” Lose yourself in Linton’s nine acres of rare and unusual plants, including a greenhouse with all that you need to spruce up your yard. Bring the kids, who will fall in love with the enchanted gardens with hours of fun from a petting zoo to train and interactive activities. When you need a break for a snack or lunch, there’s the Garden Cafe right on site serving sandwiches and paninis piled with your favorite fixings, coffee and cold beverages, and mouth-watering desserts.

Shipshewana Flea Market, 345 S. Van Buren St., Shipshewana. Open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, some Saturdays and holidays through September. A good number of the 700 open-air vendors offer plants, shrubs, seeds and all manner of gardening accessories and tools.
Turkey Creek Tree Farm & Garden Center, 55039 County Road 8, Middlebury. Variety of flowering shrubs, fruit trees, and annual flowers including hanging baskets. Trees are field-grown; the staff will spade, ball and burlap for you.
