Awards recognized product quality and partnerships in twelve categories of destinations, attractions hotels and restaurants deemed member favorites.

The winners named at NTA’s annual convention were honored with gold, silver or bronze awards. Amish Country of Northern Indiana received the Bronze award in a three-way tie with Destination DC and Jordan Tourism Board North America. Israel Ministry of Tourism was awarded Gold and Tourisme Quebec the Silver in that category.

“This is a significant recognition for our destination,” says Sonya Nash, Travel/Trade Marketing Manager for the Elkhart County Convention & Visitors Bureau (ECCVB). She noted, “Faith-based groups have an authentic experience here, with opportunities to take a deeper look at Amish life and get to know the people behind the straw hats, bonnets and simple clothes. They see first-hand how the Amish balance faith, old-world traditions and creative expression in today’s world.” Nash also pointed out that there are excellent attractions in the destination that augment the faith-based group tour product including Amish Acres, Menno-Hof, Das Dutchman Essenhaus, the Mennonite Historical Library at Goshen College, and gospel entertainment at the Blue Gate Theatre.
