Elkhart County, IN – August 20, 2013 -- The Elkhart County Convention & Visitors Bureau is proud to announce that it has earned its accreditation from the Destination Marketing Accreditation Program (DMAP). DMAP is an international accreditation program developed by the Washington DC based Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI). In earning the DMAP accreditation, destination marketing organizations (DMOs) communicate to their community, buyers and potential visitors that their DMO has attained a significant measure of excellence.
“The Elkhart County Convention & Visitors Bureau is honored to receive its renewed accreditation,” says the bureau’s executive director Diana Lawson. “Our organization is committed to meeting and excelling at the standards required in 16 domains including governance, finance, management, human resources, technology, visitor services, group services, sales, communications, membership, brand management, destination development, research/market intelligence, innovation and stakeholder relationships.” Lawson further notes, “The accreditation process is thorough and challenging and provides us with the confidence we need to meet the expectations of our stakeholders.”
The Elkhart County Convention & Visitors Bureau is the official tourism advertising/marketing and public/community relations organization for the Elkhart County (IN) hospitality industry. It takes an active role in sustainable tourism development through affiliations with government, economic development organizations, developers, tourism related businesses and other organizations that align with its mission.
