ELKHART - 2025 is shaping up to be a stellar year for fun things to do, celebrating milestones, and gathering with the larger community in Elkhart County.

It’s all highlighted in the brand-new Elkhart County Area Guide, a 76-page magazine that showcases the beauty of Elkhart County’s urban and rural spaces, more than 160 locally owned businesses, and dozens of arts and cultural programs and celebrations.

The award-winning magazine, published every year by the Elkhart County Convention & Visitors Bureau, will be available countywide at the Elkhart County Visitor Center, 3421 Cassopolis St., Elkhart, numerous businesses throughout Elkhart County, and area chambers of commerce.

“It is a joy to share with the world all that makes Elkhart County a beloved Well Crafted place,” said Executive Director Jon Hunsberger of the Elkhart County CVB. “Whether you’re a visitor or a lifelong resident or somewhere in between, you’ll find something new to love and cherish about our corner of the world.”

Each year, thousands of copies of the Elkhart County Area Guide are distributed at visitor centers, interstate highway rest areas, tourist attractions and businesses throughout the Midwest. They are also mailed directly to people who request them by mail and to subscribers of popular tourism magazines such as Midwest Living. The guide is also available as a digital download from VisitElkhartCounty.com, the official website promoting tourism for Elkhart County.

“We have a lot to look forward to in 2025, and getting a copy of the Elkhart County Area Guide and checking VisitElkhartCounty.com and ElkhartCountyEvents.com is the best way to stay on top of this year’s highlights,” said Levi King, president of the Elkhart County CVB Board of Directors.

Some of Elkhart County’s most popular festivals, from the Elkhart County 4-H Fair, Elkhart Jazz Festival, Goshen First Fridays, Nappanee Apple Festival, and Hispanic Heritage Festival will again fill the days with family-friendly activities.

2025 will be notable for several major developments and milestones:

  • The Lerner Theatre is commemorating its 100th anniversary throughout the year with special events, concerts and performances.
  • Goshen Brewing Company is celebrating its 10th anniversary.
  • Wellfield Botanic Gardens is opening its newly expanded Visitor Center and neighboring Event Pavilion
  • New restaurants will be opening in downtown Elkhart and downtown Goshen in the coming months, headed by veteran successful entrepreneurs in the dining and hospitality industries – Kurt Janowsky and Paul Cataldo in Elkhart, and Jesse Sensenig in Goshen.

Other notable events to watch for in 2025 include an expanded Quilt Gardens and Quilt Murals, with two new garden locations in Shipshewana, a new location in Wakarusa and a returning location in Elkhart.

The year is getting off to a tasty start with the return of restaurant week. Sip & Savor Elkhart County will be February 21 to March 9, 2025, bringing special menus, food specials, and delicious drinks to our table. It’s a celebration of Elkhart County’s vibrant and diverse dining scene.
